How Popular Music Has Changed Over the Last 100 Years
Music is a form of art that puts sounds together in a way that people like or find interesting. Most music includes people singing with their voices, rapping with their voices, or playing musical instruments, such as the piano, guitar, trumpet, saxophone, baritone, clarinet, drums, etc. Music is sound that is organized by using rhythm, melody or harmony. For example if someone bangs pot and pans while cooking, it makes noise. If a person bangs pots or pans in a rhythmic way, they are making a simple type of music.
Music was said to have been invented in Africa and then evolved to become a fundamental constituent of human life. Music has been around very long time but its not known what the earliest music of the cave people was like. But the earliest piece of music that was ever written down and that has not been lost was discovered on a tablet written in Hurrian, a language spoken in and around northern Mesopotamia (where Iraq is today), from about 1500 BC.
Most music is influenced by different aspects of culture, including social and economic organization and experience, climate, and access to technology. The emotions and ideas that music articulates and the attitudes toward music players and composers all vary between regions and periods.
Music has taken a dramatic turn from the old days because of the technology we have and different styles and nationalities. Today’s music such as Jazz, Blues, Hip Hop, Country, Easy Listening, certain forms of rap music and many more genres are for all ages and very family oriented. For instance, instead of going home to eat after ordering from restaurants the owner(s) make the families comfortable by playing music that is family oriented. Such Artists includes Sister Sledge, Dolly Parton, and Jonathan Butler. Music also can be another form of stress relief, to pass time, or to just have fun with family and/or friends.
